Terms of Service
Last updated 7 October 2026.
These terms govern use of Qelo Connect, provided by AVROQ (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/735641/07), trading as Qelo (qelo.co.za), South Africa (“Qelo”, “we”). By creating an account you agree to them on behalf of yourself and the business you register.
The service
Qelo Connect lets a business connect its WhatsApp Business Account, manage message templates and contact lists, send WhatsApp messages and promotions, and read replies, through Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform.
Plans and fees
- Each workspace is on a plan that sets how many WhatsApp numbers, users and contacts it may have, and how many WhatsApp messages it may send. Your current plan and its limits are shown under Settings → Plan.
- Starter is a free 14-day trial: up to 30 WhatsApp messages, from the day your workspace first connects a WhatsApp number until the end of the 14th day after it (South African time). After that, sending stops until you move to a paid plan. Nothing else in your workspace stops working and nothing is deleted. Business and Scale are paid monthly in advance, in rand, by card through our payment provider Paystack, at the price shown under Settings → Plan when you subscribe.
- A paid plan renews every month, and your card is charged automatically, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time under Settings → Plan → Manage billing. You keep the plan until the end of the month you have paid for, and it does not renew after that. We do not refund part months.
- Moving up from Business to Scale takes effect straight away. Your card is charged the Scale price from your next billing date, with nothing extra for the rest of the current month.
- If a monthly payment fails, we tell you by email and Paystack tries your card again. If the plan is still unpaid seven days after the end of the month you paid for, your workspace moves to the free Starter plan. Nothing is deleted when that happens; you cannot add more than Starter allows, or send messages once its free trial is over, until you upgrade again.
- Card details are entered on Paystack’s payment page and held by Paystack; we never see or store your card number. Fees for any other arrangement are agreed with you in writing before it takes effect, and invoiced by AVROQ (Pty) Ltd.
- Meta charges separately. Meta bills your WhatsApp Business Account directly for the messages it delivers, at Meta’s published rates. Those charges are between you and Meta and are not part of any Qelo fee.
Your responsibilities
- You may only connect WhatsApp Business Accounts you are authorised to administer.
- You must comply with Meta’s WhatsApp Business Terms and Business Messaging Policy, and with POPIA and the Consumer Protection Act, including obtaining each recipient’s agreement before sending them marketing messages and honouring requests to stop.
- You may not use the service for unlawful, deceptive or abusive messaging.
- You are responsible for the accounts of the people you invite to your workspace.
Your data
The contacts and messages in your workspace are yours. We process them as your operator under POPIA, only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy. You can export your contacts at any time from Contacts.
Availability and liability
The service depends on Meta’s platform and is provided “as is” without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. Meta decides whether templates are approved and messages are delivered. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Qelo is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the service, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Ending the service
You may disconnect your WhatsApp number at any time, and ask us to close your workspace from Settings. We may suspend access for breach of these terms, or for messaging that puts the WhatsApp number or the platform at risk. When a workspace closes we delete its data within 30 days — see the data deletion page.
Changes and law
We may update these terms; the date above shows when they last changed, and we will email workspace owners about material changes. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
